Suzanne recently joined Shore Financial as Principal Solicitor, heading up the company’s legal services division.
After completing her Juris Doctor and Graduate Certificate in Professional Legal Practice in 2014, Suzanne was admitted as a lawyer in both the Supreme Court of NSW and also the High Court of Australia in 2015.
She also completed the Legal Practice Management Course at the College of Law in June 2018.
All of those years of study have been exceptionally hard work, but it’s all part of a long-held dream for Suzanne, who, from an early age, knew she wanted to be a lawyer. Despite this, she completed a Bachelor of Medical Science and spent time working in a medical lab.
“Science and maths have always interested me, too,” she says. “But law has always been my passion and in the end the pull was strong and I couldn’t deny it.”
At this point in time, Suzanne is Shore Financial’s only lawyer, so she also has the challenge of setting up the legal services division and positioning it for future growth within the company.
But given her strong drive and work ethic, this does not faze her. She thrives on detail and problem-solving and enjoys meeting with clients, providing advice on matters of property law and all areas of wills and estates.
Suzanne also works in areas of business law, including the purchase and sale of businesses, commercial and retail leases, family law such as drafting financial agreements and acting in divorce matters and in the preparation of deeds such as partnerships, joint venture agreements and trust agreements.
“These aspects of people’s lives are really important to them. They want to ensure they are protected – and I enjoy being able to help, to give them peace of mind.”
Growing up in Sydney, Suzanne likes to keep fit by swimming when the weather’s warm, and occasionally rock climbing – a sport that’s definitely not for the faint-hearted.
“It’s a thrill when you set yourself a goal and you actually achieve it,” she says.
