An interest in food scarcity and food security led Nick to pursue a degree in Agricultural Economics at the University of Sydney, and he began his career working in the financial markets broking commodities and bonds on both the ASX and OTC derivative markets.
But when he was offered an opportunity to join Shore Financial’s Credit Advisory team, he turned his attention to a different kind of human need – housing.
Nick has a strong thirst for both financial and economic knowledge, and he enjoys helping clients to understand the market factors which drive property prices and interest rates.
His clients, in return, appreciate his ability to communicate clearly, translate complex issues into simple language and outline the factors which affect them most – what they pay for property and what they will pay in interest over the life of their loans.
“I think what I love most is that in this role I get to ‘peek into’ people’s lives. I see snapshots of important moments and big financial decisions and it’s rewarding to think that I’ve helped people to get the home of their dreams or add to their investments. This is real life, and I love being part of it.”
As a born and bred Sydney-sider, Nick’s local knowledge is a huge asset in his ability to service his clients. He loves to surf and play basketball, and he loves to ensure that his clients are exceptionally well looked after no matter what their needs.
“Trust and openness are the building blocks for successful long-term relationships,” he says. “It’s great when clients come back after a few years and want help with the next acquisition.”
Nick’s passion for client service has led to him being awarded in the MFAA’s Top 30 under 30 brokers in 2017 and the MPA’s Top 40 under 40, in both 2017 and 2018.
