Assistant to Anthony Roddy
Eliet Babbs grew up in New South Wales, in a small town called Narrandera.
Despite being in Sydney for several years and loving big city life, she says rural Australia will always hold a special place in her heart.
“My family is still there and I try to get to visit them as much as possible. I do sometimes miss the wide, open spaces and the unspoilt landscape and really seeing the seasons come and go.”
After completing her Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Eliet joined the hospitality industry where her diligence, hard work and her warm, down-to-earth personality saw her excel.
But after 15 years, six of them in management, change was calling, and Eliet joined Shore Financial last year as an assistant in Anthony Roddy’s team.
Behind the scenes, she has a critical role – ensuring “the i’s are dotted and the t’s are crossed, and that financial applications and loan approvals run smoothly.
I love the people I meet and working with lenders and liaising with clients to make sure everyone has what they need, their questions are answered, and the process runs smoothly.
In this job you have to be really organised, but it’s given me much more flexibility than any job I’ve ever had and that means time for me to do other things I enjoy, like photography and cooking.”
In Eliet’s job you also have to be patient and personable – and she is both.
“There aren’t too many problems we can’t solve and there is a great team spirit at Shore Financial. We all have the same philosophy: ‘Clients First’ – and we work together to make sure clients get exactly what they need.”
Eliet recently completed her Certificate IV in Mortgage Broking.
“It is important to me to have the right industry-recognised qualifications so I can make sure that clients feel comfortable when they’re dealing with me. Although I’m new to the mortgage broking industry, I’m committed to learning all I can.”
