This is because his client service philosophy is all about sharing ‘inside knowledge’ as he calls it, providing clients with added-value advice about how to make offers, as well as put their best foot forward when it comes to negotiations and how to bid at auction… tips that help them to get ahead of the competition when it comes to securing the property they want. This can help buyers get into the market much more quickly, he says.

In the background, Derek attends to all the details and works with the lender to make sure each client’s application process is smooth and the finances are all lined up and ready at precisely the right moment.
His thorough understanding and experience of the cycles of the property market are an asset too, enabling him to help clients to adapt to the market as necessary, either by refinancing when the time is right, or purchasing investment properties that will help them to grow their property portfolio, and structuring loans to ensure that clients have the right financial strategy in place.
When he’s not working, Derek is usually blowing off steam on a Harley Davidson somewhere around Sydney, keeping fit, playing squash or travelling.
