Within the first few minutes of talking to Charlie, you feel like you’ve known him for years. He’s an easy conversationalist and exceptionally personable – attributes he says that were honed growing up on a property at Cowra, where his parents ran a restaurant and cellar door.
Several years spent ‘waiting tables’, he says, have given him a love of talking to people and listening to their stories and dreams. Then, after moving to Sydney to boarding school, completing a degree in Property Economics and spending some time working in commercial real estate, Charlie discovered mortgage broking. He says the single most enjoyable aspect of his job now is helping people to realise their property dreams.
And, as a determined goal setter himself, Charlie says it’s great to see people reach the achievements they set themselves, but his greatest motivation comes from client feedback.
Charlie’s client service efforts have seen him be awarded in the MPA’s list of Top 100 Brokers in both 2017 and 2018.
2018 has been a big year for Charlie both professionally and personally. Added to his delight at being awarded in the Top 100 for the second year in a row, this year he also got married and adopted a cat called ‘Crumpet’ who he says, along with surfing and golf, helps him to relax and de-stress.
“This is a busy job at times and requires juggling a lot of priorities and taking care of small details, but it’s really rewarding. The measure of success for me is when clients recommend our services to others – that’s when you know you’ve done a good job.”
