With fifteen years of experience in asset finance in the UK, followed by six years in Australia, Alex Nochar was ready for change when the opportunity to head into mortgage broking came calling.
Some years later, he met Theo Chambers. They both dreamed of starting their own firm. And so, they did.
Alex’s head for numbers, his solid understanding of the broking business and his detailed and process-oriented thinking, complement Theo’s more entrepreneurial mind-set.
Together they make a good team.
“Theo focuses on driving the business forward, and I make sure that we have the resources and infrastructure in place to do that. I’m focused on managing the broking team, too.
Shore Financial has grown very fast, and that has its own set of challenges… but we’re focused on continuing to strive ahead, and to create a firm like no other in this space, with added-value service offerings that really deliver to our clients,” Alex says.
Day-to-day, as well as being focused on the business itself, Alex manages a strong portfolio of clients – mostly made of repeat business and referrals. He is ranked at the highest level with the major banks, which entitles Shore Financial to preferential service and specialised pricing for borrowers.
“I love people, and I guess that’s why I love this business. Mortgage broking is all about helping people get finance to achieve their dreams and aspirations. In many ways, it’s the backbone of the community. We’re helping people to buy homes, and we’re helping businesses to grow, and as a team we have a strong sense of responsibility when it comes to our role within that.”
Alex has been consistently awarded by the industry for his contribution to client service: Australian Finance Group (AFG) Top 40 broker 2017 and 2018 and also AFG Top 10 broker 2017 and 2018.
He was awarded No 2 AFG broker in 2017.
Alex has lodged in excess of a billion applications in the last five years.
