About Me

Theo Chambers is a passionate entrepreneur who has excelled in various industries throughout his career. As CEO of Shore Financial, his mission is to build a brand and culture focused on creating customer loyalty.

Theo co-founded Shore Financial with Alex Nochar in January 2013, following their success in the finance industry at McGrath’s Oxygen Home Loans. Since then, Theo and Alex have built Shore Financial to being a business which originally was writing $5m a month in home loan applications with only 3 staff, to now $200m a month in applications with 54 staff. In its first year, Shore Financial wrote $185m in loan settlements which was impressive in itself yet the team have continuously outdone themselves by more than doubling their volumes in their second year to $441m in loan settlements and almost doubling again in the third year with an amazing $722m in loan settlements. This year, after moving into a new 120 seater office, Shore Financial are aiming for $1.2b in loan settlements making them one of, if not the biggest independent brokerage of Australia.

Theo has gained some valuable skills and experience in the financial services industry since he joined the Commonwealth Bank in 2008 where he worked for three years. He has since won a number of awards including the Editor’s Choice Broker of the Year in 2014. In FY2015, Theo settled $131 million in loans and has ranked amongst Australian Finance Group’s Top 40 Mortgage Brokers every year since 2011 and in the past two years, ranked in the AFG Top 15 Mortgage Brokers nationwide. In 2016, Theo has stepped down from being the number one loan writer at Shore Financial to becoming CEO and focusing on building a business with brokers whom all share similar achievements as himself in loan volumes.

Theo has also managed to take Shore Financial within the first year of trading to receive The Australian Finance Group Top 5 Brokerage of NSW 2014, Best New Brokerage of the Year 2014 and most importantly the Better Business Awards Best Independent Brokerage of 2015. His is now a frequent guest speaker at many industry events as he shares his success stories and strategies amongst the industry.

Outside of mortgage broking, Theo separately built an education business to 147 staff within two years making it the second largest education aggregator in Australia. He has a knack for building businesses by leading and motivating individuals to be the best of their capabilities. He is a trusted leader who inspires staff by instilling high expectations and driving them to fulfil these expectations by constant positive influence. His business values and ethics have been taught to him by a family blood line of business owners and entrepreneurs including liquor tycoons Theo Karedis and Steven Chambers.
